Helen Marie Guier, 91, of Kelso, passed away on May 9, 2006. She was born on
October 5, 1914 to Wallace Smith and Zela Mae Rush Smith in Wills Point, Texas.
She lived in the local area for over 60 years and graduated from R.A. Long High
School in 1932. On November 29, 1946, Helen married Robert LaRoy Guier in Kelso.
She was a homemaker and also worked for the Kelso School District, retiring in
1980. 

Helen was a member of the Kelso Eagles, Rebecca, and REAC. She enjoyed quilting,
cooking, crocheting, canning, bingo and gardening in her flower beds. Helen was
very hospitable, a great friend, and loved to invite people over for big
gatherings and family get-togethers. She also loved to sew and mend for family
and friends. She was always there to lend a hand and help others. She attended
all family functions and reunions, usually helping to put on many of them. Her
home was always open to others. 

Helen is survived by a sister, Ann Jermann of Stevenson, WA; daughters, Helen
Roulst and Dolly Guier, both of Kelso; grandson, Kelly Giddings of Seattle;
granddaughters, Casey Canale of Maple Valley, WA and Joann Eaton of Kelso; and
great grandchildren, Zhawn Saulsman of Kelso, Nicholas Williams of Maple Valley,
WA, and Colton Eaton and Tomas Eaton of Kelso. Helen was preceded in death by
her husband, Robert LaRoy Guier on September 20, 2003. 

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 12, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at the
Columbia Funeral Chapel with Pastor Jerry Hancuff officiating. Viewing will take
place on Friday, May 12, 2006 from 9am to Noon. Memorial donations may be made
to Community Home Health and Hospice, P.O. Box 2067, Longview, WA 98632.
