William Tucker 80-year resident services held

William A. Tucker, 88, who had been a resident of this community for over 80
years, died Sunday in a Longview hospital, which he had entered on Saturday.
He was born September 29, 1876, at Eola, Ore. The family came to Castle Rock
from Portland in 1884 and settled in the Scanty Grease community, now Delameter
Valley.  They later moved into town, where Tucker's parents had a lodging house. 
Before his retirement, Mr. Tucker was a maintenance man for the PUD.  He was an
"Old Timer" member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. 

He leaves his wife, Clara; one son Frank of Longview; one daughter, Mrs. Arlene
Thomas of Lake Tahoe, Calif.; two grandchildren, and a brother, Warren Tucker of
Castle Rock. 

Private funeral services were held this Wednesday afternoon in the Hubbard
chapel.  The Rev. Martin Lee officiated and the Rev. Ernest Moore was soloist. 
Private cremation followed.  Final interment will be in the family plot in
Whittle cemetery.
