"J. D. McGowan, Cowlitz County Pioneer, Dies"

Kelso, Wednesday, March 9.---James Douglas McGowan, pioneer of Cowlitz County,
who lived south of Kelso for nearly forty years, died at his farm home,
Riverside Farm, yesterday, aged 73.  Surviving are his widow, Louisa M. McGowan;
two daughters, Mrs. H. E. Bloyd of Troutdale, Ore., and Miss Ella McGowan of
Kelso; two sisters, Mrs. Andres Carlsen and Mrs. Emma McCorkle of Kelso, and two
brothers, William Pennington of Portland and Alvin T. Pennington of Weiser,
Idaho.
   Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon.
